Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid and its salts are hydration workhorses. Molecular weight and modification change where and how they perform in a formula.

Weight ranges

High-MW HA forms a surface film and slip; lower-MW grades penetrate differently and can feel lighter. Blends are common when you want both cushion and deeper hydration cues.

Forms you will see

Sodium hyaluronate is the everyday salt. Hydrolyzed and acetylated variants, plus crosslinked gels, expand texture and wash-off resistance options.

Pairing tips

HA loves water phases with good preservation. Watch electrolyte load and pH; some grades thin or string in unexpected ways when combined with certain thickeners.
