1. Write the optical target before the first drop

If the brief is a clear water gel, say so. A cream can hide a few drops. A gel cannot. Open essential oils as documented lots, not as leftover kitchen bottles. If the only packet has no INCI and no IFRA file, you are not solubilizing — you are contaminating a chassis that was supposed to stay glass-clear.

2. This is not the toner that milked after a working trace

The published load-overrun page is a hydrotrope that already cleared a perfume, then failed when the oil load doubled. Stay here when the chassis is a polymer gel and the oil is an essential-oil leftover, not a fragrance oil. Raising Polysorbate 20 until the gel looks like a lotion is a chassis change, not a clarification step.

What buyers say

Buyer experience with this exact Mylo-Opt product. Educational content stays primary — this is not scientific proof.

3. Do not paste a cream IFRA line or a drop-count onto this gel

Leave-on cream category math does not grant optical permission. Folklore drops per ounce do not either. If this gel is a leave-on, it still needs its own product-type file — but even a legal trace can milk the polymer. Legality and clarity are different jobs.

4. An essential-oil leftover is not the fragrance-oil premix you sized last month

Lavender essential oil 10 ml is a named lot with its own insolubles and oxidation story. A fragrance oil that cleared at a given solubilizer load does not predict this leftover. Surfactants as a family are not one ratio. Size the solubilizer to this oil and this optical target, or remove the oil.

5. Solubilizer, EO, and polymer are all passengers

The solubilizer brings its own solvent and sensory load. The essential oil brings volatiles. The gel former may haze when the micelles grow. Split the retain: gel blank, gel plus solubilizer, gel plus both. If the blank is clear and the third cup is milk, you did not ‘need more polymer’ — you exceeded a clear-gel brief.

6. What honest copy can say

You can say the gel’s optical target was written first, this lavender lot was documented, and the solubilizer dose was copied from a working small-scale of that pair. You cannot publish a universal polysorbate-to-EO ratio. You cannot call a milky gel ‘still a gel’ because the IFRA line was green. If the oil will not stay clear, change the chassis or delete the oil.
