1. Date the meniscus, do not rewrite the 48-hour photograph
If the brief is a squalane-rich cream that must hold on the shelf, write the retain clock before anyone tops up oil. A cup that splits while still warm is a process event. A cup that looks elegant at two days and weeps oil at seven is a delayed load event. Those clocks are not interchangeable. Walk the emulsifiers category as lots with oil-phase capacity notes, not as a slogan that ‘Olivem always holds squalane’.
2. This is not the first cool-down liquid-crystal page
Yesterday’s Olivem article times a cream that looked emulsified hot and slumped into a lotion after the first cool-down, with no water ring. Stay here when the first cool-down held a peak and the failure arrived days later as an oily meniscus. Do not steal that liquid-crystal clock. Do not diagnose ‘same emulsifier, therefore same hour’.
3. This is not the 24–72 hour water-ring tree
The published split tree is serum water collecting under an oil layer in the first days. Stay here when the short retain was dry and the later fault is a squalane-rich cream at the surface, not a water pocket. Blaming Squalane 1 kg as ‘rancid’ because a week-old jar looks glossy does not replace a peroxide check on that lot, and a clean peroxide file does not prove the emulsifier was sized for this oil load.
What buyers say
Buyer experience with this exact Mylo-Opt product. Educational content stays primary — this is not scientific proof.
Open the exact product page — Squalane 1 kgFirst time trying squalane and I was honestly impressed. Used it without massage so far, just instead of cream after washing my face. Moisturizes well and soaks in pretty fast. Perfect for winter — radiators dry my skin at home and it's freezing outside. No dryness or flaking after using it. Super economical too. I'll try it with a gua sha massage sometime.
4. Open the squalane lot and the emulsifier file as two objects
Squalane 1 kg is a documented light oil with its own appearance and peroxide line on this shipment — not a nickname for any ‘natural silicone’. Olivem 1000 is a liquid-crystal emulsifier with a process window, not a promise that extra oil can be stirred in after cool-down. If the oil was topped up after the network built, write that as a process note. If either sheet is silent on oil-phase load, you do not invent a holding coefficient from a sister cream.
5. Keep a 48-hour cup and a seven-day cup before swapping the oil
Cup A: the formula at first cool-down. Cup B: the same fill after two days. Cup C: the same fill after a documented week at the storage temperature this file allows. If A and B peak and C shows a ring, stop calling the squalane ‘bad’. The Base oils and butters aisle is where you compare this lot to a heavier ester or a lower oil load — it is not a slogan that ‘squalane always floats’. Photograph the three cups before purchasing rewrites the SKU.
6. What honest copy can say
You can say the short retain peaked, this squalane lot was classified as a cosmetic oil, and creaming was timed in days against that retain. You cannot say squalane ‘does not cream’. You cannot publish a universal Olivem-to-squalane ratio. Notes on selecting an emulsifier for a formula confirm a documentation family exists — they do not write your delayed-load diagnosis. If the brief must hold a light oil for a week and this pair will not, change the oil load, the emulsifier family, or delete the ‘stable cream’ claim.
